Save Lives. Bring Hope.
Founded in 1987, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a national voluntary health organization dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. Through research, education, advocacy, and support, AFSP empowers individuals and communities to take action and build a culture that is informed, compassionate, and proactive about mental health.

Founded in 2001 through the generosity of the William Doré Foundation, the Kay Doré Counseling Clinic at McNeese State University provides quality, affordable counseling services to Lake Charles and surrounding Southwest Louisiana parishes. The clinic also serves as a training site for graduate students in the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, under the supervision of licensed professional counselors.

The clinic offers individual, couples, family, and group counseling for a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, self-injury, and life transitions. All counseling services are provided at a flat rate of $20 per session.

Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority was created by the Louisiana State Legislature under the provisions of LA Revised Statutes 28:910 to provide for the administration, management, and operations of behavioral health and developmental disabilities services to the citizens of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jeff-Davis parishes.

The legislature intends to create statewide integrated human services delivery systems, with local accountability and management, to provide behavioral health and developmental disabilities services. Imcal is governed by a eight-member board of directors, of which there is one seat from each parish represented, as well as three governor appointees.

At the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, we understand that life's challenges can sometimes be difficult. Whether you're facing mental health struggles, emotional distress, alcohol or drug use concerns, or just need someone to talk to, our caring counselors are here for you. You are not alone.
